Connemara is famous for its diverse range of fishing on hundreds of Lakes. The closest place to fish to Letterfrack is on the surrounding lakes close to Kylemore Abbey
Kylemore house Fishery
This famous fishery has hosted anglers form far and wide for over two hundred years. There is access to Fishing on 3 lakes for Salmon and Sea trout. Kylemore Lake is the larger of the three and is adjacent to Kylemore House. The Middle Lake is reknowned for sea trout. The Castle Lake is directly adjacent to Kylemore Abbey. The Dawros river is the river which runs into the Kylemore lakes. Fly-fishing only permitted on the lakes and the river.

We have boats available for fishermen from April to the end of the fishing season in September.

Practicle Elements
At Kylemore house you can purchase a permit for a half or full days fishing.
Fishermen must also purchase government licences. These can be 1 day, 21 days and annual licences.
A days fishing permit for Kylemore Lough is 80.00 euro, this includes boat hire and fishing.
Shore Fishing can also proivde a good days fishing.

Gillies available on request
A few days notice is required for us to provide a Gillie who has local knowledge of the fishing and best spots on the lake. The ususal cost is 80-100 Euro per day paid directly to the gillie
